Title: RE: [ukha_d] Mini-blind Receiver Size

No, IXUS, I’m waiting on a Kodak touching down ;-)

Yes, I did have to shorten the rail but only very slightly.

Photo's - with the new Kodak? Yes please, I'd love to see them - did you have to shorten the rails to get them to fit?

Steve,

The unit is a small motor unit that goes on the end of a standard vertical blind rail and drives the rod down the centre directly, roughly about the same width as the rail a couple of centimetres or so deep and about 15cm in length dropping down below the rail. The IR pickup is a small separate unit which is very discrete and a battery pack that takes four AA batteries and not much larger that the batteries it houses. I have one and it works well via IR control through HV, the cool thing about them is you can link several together with one IR command to control multiple units, for example, IIRC, up to five blinds in the one room.

If anyone wants I can post up some pics later when I get home.

IIRC they were about £45-50 a pop and Li at Laser was trying to set up a consistent source for them so best to mail him direct and see if he got anywhere.

Have you any details of this unit Kenneth?  Might just address one of my problems?

Thanks,

Steve

There is a motor that fits on the end of the rail for vertical blinds
and is tidy with IR control but AFAIK there is only the twist rod motor
for Venetian blinds.
