Tried this before (I have macros programmed into my Pronto) but it's a
pain, because there's no discrete code for switching between TV and AV.
The macros are fairly complex and take quite a while to run. To further
complicate matters, I have an external Quattro+ Scart switcher connected
to AV1 on the TV. Persuading the TV to switch to AV mode when you select
an input on this is also a pain. However, function switching via Scart
seems much more reliable which is why I'd like to try it. Toggle the
function switching on any device connected to the Quattro+ and it will
switch over to the selected input and also switch the TV to AV1. The
same goes for any other devices connected to other sockets on the TV.
Release them all and the TV switches back to UHF. It's a much more
direct, and fast, means of reliably switching the source. I have 6
devices connected that I'd like to be able to switch in this was - if I
can connect them directly to one of the HV ports I'll be laughing.
The TV's a Panasonic Tau, BTW.
Cheers,
Steve
