Depends on your setup in both cases. My list email goes to my home address
which I can pick up from work but do not stop going home as well since it
could mean messages I want to keep at home get cancelled by reading at
work.
So I effectively get everything twice from the mailing list. IMAP is the
only decent solution for this, but I currently do not have it on my main
account.
Usenet on the other hand I have no such problems with since I have my
systems setup to share a database showing what messages I have read so my
position appears to be the exact opposite of your own. There are also other
advantages of Usenet over an email system.
Mark.
