Well,
it isn't quite the little miracle that I'd hoped, but it's still pretty
good.
The IR
LEDs come on at low light levels. If they're not on, you get an entirely
colour
image. With the IR LEDs on, where the dominant illumination
is IR,
you get B/W. Where it's visible light, you get colour.
Unlike
other cameras that just switch from colour to b/w when the light level
drops,
this outputs b/w where it's actually seeing IR. So, for example, if you
point it
at the video recorder in the dark, you get the main image in b/w
with
the LEDs in colour, if you see what I mean!
I've
got the thing cabled up into the UHF feed but I'm going to feed it into one
of
the servers so that I can access it over the web. When I have a URL, I'll
let
you know.
