cm12u possibly broke

Title: Message
Guys,

For the first time in ages I started playing with x10 again now ive got my epod working on my network but Ive been having some problems.  As you all know I dont have any windows so this email might have a limited audience but im hoping the problem is not specific to unix.

After connecting the cm12u to my linux box on com2 (ttyS1) I started up both heyu and ppower (freeware implementations of the home control software) and found that my x10 modules do not respond to any commands from the cm12u.  I can monitor the power lines from the cm12u and see communication between a mini timer and the modules but nothing responds to the cm12u.

The house codes are correct from my observations.

Anyone ever experienced anything like this?  is it broke?  do i need to replace or is there something mystical i need to do to sort this out.

Any advice etc would be greatly appreciated.

thanks
    kieran

p/s im very pleased with myself, im on topic for once ;-)
