When you're doing as much to a house as I am, a few channels in walls makes
little difference.  Plus I've got access to the floor void (upstairs at
least as I too have concrete downstairs).  I have replaced most of the
skirting anyway.

My only regret is feeling guilty about SWMBO nagging - otherwise I'd have
put some CAT5 in at the time too.  I'm now retro-fitting a few runs as it
really is essential - even if I'm only in the house for another year or
so....
